Recondo Technology Speaker Bios
Rick Adam
Rick Adam is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Recondo Technology. He founded the company in 2007 with the goal of developing software and services designed to bring efficiencies and cost savings to the handling of healthcare payments, a process that currently costs the medical industry a staggering $375 billion in annual expense.
Mr. Adam also founded New Era of Networks (NEON). NEON products were leaders in electronic data interchange (EDI) and application integration for healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing/distribution. At Baxter Healthcare Corp., Mr. Adam founded and led the Trevino Healthcare Information Systems (also called IBAX) which automated several hundred hospitals. The software applications automated and integrated admitting, patient accounting, pharmacy, and material management. Mr. Adam also has extensive experience in the financial services industry where he led efforts to streamline administrative costs.
Mr. Adam holds a BS degree from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York. As a captain in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Adam served as launch crew officer in charge of the Real Time Computer Center (RTCC) at Kennedy Space Center for Apollo Missions 8 through 14. He has served on the Colorado Governor's Commission on Science and Technology. Mr. Adam is a Director of Life Technologies, a leading company in life and genetic sciences.
Mike Mulcahy
Mike Mulcahy serves as Recondo Vice President, Payer Relations. He previously was the Market Head for Aetna in Colorado, providing network management services for a 6000+ physician, hospital, and ancillary provider network for a full spectrum of Aetna managed healthcare products. Prior to Aetna, he was Director of Operations for Prudential Healthcare, managing multi-state programs for 125,000-member health plan. As Government Products Contract Manager for United Healthcare, he was responsible for all provider contracting activities for start-up Medicare and Medicaid products. Mike holds a Master of Health Administration degree and an MBA from Georgia State University. He completed a Fellowship in Healthcare Policy from the Bighorn Center for Public Policy in 2005, and served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps.
Ryan Woodward
Ryan Woodward serves as Regional Director for the eastern United States. Prior to joining Recondo, Ryan worked for Passport Health Communications as a National Trainer of Passport software applications and as an Account Manager and ultimately a regional Vice President. Over the past nine years, Ryan has personally trained hundreds of registration staff in collections methodology at almost 200 hospitals. He also has worked personally at the executive level with the largest healthcare entities and systems in the US. He has spoken at more than 25 events sponsored by HFMA, FAHAM, GAMA, and other healthcare organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Middle Tennessee State University.
Shelly Walters
Shelly serves as Revenue Cycle Consultant for Recondo and is responsible for gathering data and activating Recondo services at customer hospitals across the United States. She also helps train users in all aspects of Recondo services. Shelly brings her extensive knowledge and experience of the entire hospital revenue cycle to her customers. She spent a decade at Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC), a 139-bed hospital in Troy, Ohio. During her tenure at UVMC, Shelly gained a thorough knowledge of hospital revenue cycle management. Before joining Recondo, Shelly was employed by HTP/RelayHealth as a Senior Manager of Implementations, where she was responsible for managing the RevRunner implementation team. She also served as a consultant to healthcare patient access/financial services in developing work flow practices to enhance insurance eligibility, billing claim statusing, as well as opportunities to increase point of service collections. Shelly earned a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Ohio University and a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Urbana University. Shelly is also a member of NAHAM, National Association of Healthcare Access Management and COPAM, Central Ohio Patient Account Managers.
Jonathan Hendricks
Jonathan has more than 15 years of extensive revenue cycle management. He has created performance improvement projects that implemented point-of-service collection activities where none formerly existed, which added millions of dollars to the bottom line. He has directed both Patient Access and Patient Accounting departments where he successfully connected the revenue cycle together to work and run more efficiently by addressing key components to speed up collection activities and to assist in reducing bad debts and denials. Jonathan is a strong advocate of motivating people within the hospital to recognize the importance of the revenue cycle and what it means to the success of the organization. He is an active member of HFMA and has spoken frequently on revenue cycle activities. He holds a BS in Health Care Administration.
Victor Marcinik
Victor Marcinik joined Recondo Technology as Vice President, Product Marketing after 17 years with HCA Healthcare. His contributions within HCA were lead roles in complete revenues cycle operation. Most recently, Mr. Marcinik was Chief Operating Officer for HCA Denver's Revenue Cycle Operations which encompassed seven acute care facilities. Mr. Marcinik received degrees in accounting and finance from the University of Central Florida.
Jason Thomas
Jason Thomas is Regional Vice President for the western region, managing territory reps and named accounts. Prior to joining Recondo, Jason was Regional Vice President of Sales for Craneware, managing 28 western states. During his tenure at Craneware, his region delivered a significant percentage of annual revenue, leading to a successful Initial Public Offering. He also worked for BMC Software, where he consistently achieved quota and made Sales Club. Jason holds a BBA in Finance from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Reid Mellott
Reid Mellott is Regional Vice President for the eastern region, managing territory reps and named accounts. Prior to joining Recondo, Reid was Regional Manager of Sales for Craneware, consistently performing at or near the top of the Craneware sales force delivering both gross revenue and new sales. He also worked as Senior Medical Systems Sales Consultant for Bradford-Scott Data Corporation, selling products and services into to large-scale clinics, hospitals, and management service organizations. Reid holds a BS in Management from Purdue University.
Jennifer Powers-Johnson
Jennifer Powers-Johnson serves as Regional Director for the western United States. She is an expert in hospital patient access and revenue cycle, with an in-depth knowledge of eligibility, co-payments, co-insurance, cost estimators, medical necessity, physician orders, referrals high-deductible health plans, and healthcare savings accounts. During her tenures with Novell and SCI Solutions, she worked with some of the largest stand-alone hospitals and hospital systems in the US including executive level relationships with HCA, IASIS, CHS, and CHW.
