Patient Account Rank Order (PARO®) Risk-Assessment Scoring
– Recondo SurePayHealth® Provides the PARO Score for Presumptive Charity

The PARO Charity Score is a socioeconomic score that predicts the likelihood of a patient qualifying for financial assistance and charity care, The predictive model uses 9,000 database sources comprising more than 2 billion public record sources. PARO meets the needs of your hospital community, especially for your patients who may be underserved. The PARO score is calibrated for each facility's historical approvals and regional economic conditions.

PARO is a solution by which facilities gain increased access to charity care for consumers, while improving the ability to deliver Community Benefits to underserved parts of the community they serve.

PARO identifies:

  1. Patients who qualify for Presumptive Charity
  2. Patients who are most likely to pay within 120-days following discharge
  3. The revenue cycle method for maximum reimbursement

PARO also verifies patient addresses and phone numbers, and provides corrected Social Security numbers (occurring from data entry errors at registration).

The PARO Charity Score is a non-FRCA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) solution, and doesn't access personal credit data to create the score. The PARO Charity Score is a proven predictive model built on past charity approvals for the facility and is calibrated for each facility's historical approvals and regional economic conditions.

PARO conforms to the guidelines of IRS Form 990, Schedule H, and the definition of presumptive charity. PARO accurately identifies patients qualified for presumptive charity, and hospitals can claim those expenses as Community Benefits on Form 990, Schedule 990. PARO enjoys an established history of audit acceptance.
